A 2-year long course, divided into two distinct years of studies. In the first year, students may select among a list of European domestic Laws. (e.g.: English Public Law, French Public Law, German Public Law, Italian Public Law, English Civil Law, French Civil Law, German Civil Law, Italian Civil Law, etc.)
The courses offered (organised in co-operation with the affiliated Universities) will depend on the affiliations of the ELS with specific Universities, the objective being that graduates from the Universities co-operating with the ELS will be able to specialise in their domestic law. Special emphasis should be given in attracting students from the NIS, hence the programme should also offer special courses on domestic law of Eastern European countries (Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Balkan countries, Turkey etc).
In the first year, students sit in two examination periods, a mid-term exam, after the completion of the first semester, and a final exam, after the completion of the taught course. Marking and grades follow the same reasoning as in the other available courses.
Students failing to get a “pass” mark, and provided that they do not improve their performance in the oral exam, that they will be called to give (again, having to pay a fine for it), will be awarded a ‘Specialisation’ – or Master’s- degree in the domestic law they attended.
In the second year, students follow the curriculum of the Master (LLM) in International Law.
